SENIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER / PROJECT MANAGER
5-10 years of experience
Purpose:
The Senior Designer will head a collaborative design team through all stages of the
design process, as well as manage the design documentation and construction phases.
The Senior Designer must be a strong leader with a positive outlook and enthusiasm for teaching junior staff. Candidate must be able to complete a project in accordance with professional standards, deliver the project on time and within budget.
Requirements:
• Establish and maintain client relationship for each project.
• Work on several projects concurrently.
• Manage all phases of design.
• Manage design teams for assigned projects.
• Candidate must be able to manage a schedule and meet major project deadlines.
Must understand how to manage budgets for time and cost.
• Understand client inspiration/concept and translate into a design language.
• Develop floor plans and reflected ceiling plans to accommodate flow, function, and
relevant concept design. Oversee design team floor plan and RCP development, as
required.
• Develop furniture, fixture and accessory concepts to reflect project design. Oversee
design team finish & fixture development, as required. FF&A concepts meet required
standards/codes, and work within the project budget and schedule.
• Coordinate with Project Architect in the development project schedules and
workflow. Oversee development of interior details for Construction Documents,
including contribution to value engineering efforts, as required.
• Supervise and contribute to the preparation visual presentations. Must have
graphics skills required to review and assist in the production professional
presentation packages, including relevant concept imagery, materials, finishes,
furnishings, and interior design concepts.
• Oversee and review design, including redlining relevant elevations & sections,
millwork details, and FF&A specifications. Candidate must have a strong
understanding of millwork detailing and construction.
• Oversee specification and approval of finish and FF&A samples as required for the
project.
• Review finish & FF&A budgets for product information, costs, quantities and overall
alignment with project budget/scope.
• Review and redline finishes and FF&A specifications for assigned projects.
• Oversee interiors library maintenance, participating in group library organization as
needed.
• Works under the supervision of Principals.
• Keeps Principals up-to-date on applicable projects.
Skills and Attributes:
• Creative, collaborative, detail-oriented, organized, self-disciplined & self-motivated.
• Able to manage clients and consultants effectively.
• Experience with all phases of design and construction.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of design and construction theory.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of building codes and ADA requirements.
• Must be a strong time manager.
• Must have strong listening skills. Verbal and written communication skills are
necessary and highly valued, including the ability to present creative ideas and
concepts clearly.
• Rendering skills are highly valued. Blue Lantern uses many forms of visualization
including 3D modeling (Revit/SketchUp), hand rendering and sketch vignettes.
INTERIOR DESIGNER
3-5 years of experience
Purpose:
To work as part of the design team on projects from the concept stage through
documentation and construction. The Designer will play an active role in collaborative design as well as coordinate/document the design process, while building the leadership skills required for future project management responsibilities. Candidate must be able to complete a project in accordance with professional standards, deliver the project on time and within budget.
Requirements:
• Bachelorʼs or Masterʼs Degree in Interior Design.
• 3-5 years of experience in restaurant & hospitality design.
• Interior Design Certification is preferred.
• Proficiency in required soware: Revit, Adobe InDesign/Photoshop, Microso Office Suite, BlueBeam). Experience with SketchUp & AutoCAD is valued, but not required.
Responsibilities:

• Format and input specification information for review by supervisors.
• Participate in interiors library organization and maintenance.

• Supervises Interiors Interns for assigned projects.
