Given the Hartness family’s passion for aviation, Blue Lantern Studios imagined a restaurant inspired by the history of air travel, from vintage airplane design details to the more intangible qualities of flight. The space features a curvilinear, floating metal rod sculpture in the central dining area, which mimics the energy of movement and flying. Large steel enclosures help define space with a light quality to preserve the open, lofty quality of the building. Stone and wood-grain patterns suggest aerial views of landscape forms. Details such as metal accents, rivets, and rich leather hint at aircraft design, while gentle curves are reminiscent of aviation and flight.
